Besides the usual items such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, don’t forget sunscreen and moisturiser. Make sure the sunscreen you pick is water-resistant and has an SPF of at least 30, to give your skin ample protection against the harmful UV rays. Don’t forget to pack cooling lotion or aloe vera gel to soothe and refresh your skin after a long day of sun exposure.

Health Items

The beach is a great place to relax and have fun, but it’s also important to be prepared for any health emergencies. Bring along a first-aid kit which includes band-aids and antiseptic wipes, as well as travel medicine such as your usual prescription, pain relievers, digestive aids, antihistamines and motion sickness medication. Don’t forget wet wipes and hand sanitizers so you can easily clean your hands on the go!

Food and drinks

When it comes to food, choose non-perishable items which can be stored easily, such as fresh or dried fruits, seeds and nuts, and biscuits. Also bring plenty of water and beverages such as isotonic drinks and juices to stay hydrated throughout the day. We recommend taking a reusable water bottle with you as an eco-friendly choice.

Beachwear

Bring swimsuits, cover-ups such as sarongs or beach dresses, flip flops or sandals, hats, sunglasses and beach towels. Plan your outfits beforehand to ensure you look great in your photos, and bring along a waterproof beach bag to keep your valuables during water activities. An extra change of clothes (or two) can be helpful, because you never know when you might get wet.

Other optional items to bring on your trip to the beach may include a portable speaker, book or e-reader, and a beach mat.

Pro Tip: Avoid wearing metal jewellery such as necklaces and bracelets when you head to the beach, as they can get hot under the sun, making you feel uncomfortable. They may also get tarnished or come loose when you’re having fun!
